Salvage vehicle pre-bid checklist

A low auction price is only the starting point. Before bidding, confirm the vehicle identity, damage, fees, transport, repair path, and total landed cost.

Listing checks

Read the complete listing, not only the headline. Compare the description with photos and confirm whether keys, documents, accessories, and damage information are included.

  • VIN or identifying details
  • Odometer and engine information
  • Damage location and severity
  • Auction fee and payment rules

Cost checks

Estimate the winning price plus buyer fees, transport, storage, parts, labour, inspections, registration requirements, and a contingency for unknown damage.

Decision checks

If a critical detail is missing, treat it as unknown rather than assuming the best case. Bid only when the downside still fits your budget and business case.
